That sucks, I'll keep my eyes open.
What part of the city were you in? Did you have wheel locks?
-
Damn. Hopefully you find the thieves!
More info would help alot... Rim and tire size etc.

we will question anyone we find on the trails with blown beads, blown sidewalls or just plain stuck going downhill.

That sucks, I am assuming your Jeep is the one parked on the main street in by the commercial strip?
I live fairly close by and had noticed your Jeep there a few times. When I saw it sitting on jacks and the front hub, that made my blood boil. Do any of those stores have surveillance cameras that might have captured anything?
It has to be somebody who either lives or has friends in that area, I can't see thieves just randomly driving all the way into Discovery Ridge and targeting your Jeep.
I will keep my eyes peeled; frickin' thieves.
-
I live down the street from you and have the same rims...looks like im buying rim locks soon.

In my opinion, wheel locks are just a way to make an insurance claim go faster. If someone was into stealling they would just have to go out and buy about six to eight different sets of locking nuts and then they have the super special key to yourlocking nuts.
If you're going to buy locking nuts I wouldn't buy Gorilla or Mcguard since they are the two most common brands that you can buy. Making the chances of someone else having your key more likely.
Just my $.02 if someone wants your wheels bad enough they'll get them.
If thieves got caught and dealt with in a more appropriate way than the police deal with them there might be less of them.
-
so rewire the car battery to run current through the rims when the engine is off. got it. ;)
-
lock nuts won't save your tires if someone wants them.
i think they'd put me back an additional minute per wheel to get them off......... with an impact seconds......

I know this is not a discussion on Wheel Locks but I thought you guys might like to know anyway. Years ago when wheel locks first started coming out nobody except for people in the wheel and tire industry knew how to properly remove them without the special key/socket. It's the same way with slim jims and lock picking kits, years ago you had to be licsensed to carry or buy these specialty tools. But now all you have to do is go to PA and get the special wheel lock removal socket, it's purpose is to remove lock nuts that have been damaged or the key lost. So, wheel locks are only a deterrent to those thieves that are far too lazy to bother.
-
Special tool? Give me about 15 seconds with a socket that just barely slips over the outside, one tap with a hammer and a regular ratchet/breaker bar. My Jeep came with "locking lug nuts" and no key, took me about 5 seconds longer to take that one off over a regular one.
Sucks about your shoes man, but at least you have a good excuse to upgrade now!
-
When I first bought me TJ, i didn't bother to notice that the original owner had wheel locks on, and didn't bother to leave the socket in the glove box. Needless to say in the middle of no where the tire decides to go. I spent more time looking to see if the socket was left, than it took me to properly fit the tire rod onto the lug with the help of a large rock.
IMO they will only stop stupid lazy thieves, not the ones that know what they are doing.
