Title: Stolen cargo trailer full of tools
Post by: Vinman on February 25, 2015, 06:57:45 AM
16x7 grey Cargomate enclosed trailer full of woodworking tools, stolen from Artesia (across from Heritage Point) probably within the last hour given no snow where it was parked.
Plate X21624
Only identifying things are a snall aluminum tongue box and a fold down step for the side door.
 This is my livelyhood

Damn. Sorry to hear. I hope you find it.

There are Garmin gsp tracking you can put in the trailer in the future. You can use your smart phone to track.

After talking with the insurance company it sounds like they are going to everything. The vast majority if the tools will be covered at full value with the 5 year old trailer paid at a depreciated value. I'm not complaining about that.

Glad it's covered for you.  Still sucks to have to deal with that crap.

Man that sucks, what's up with people now a days? Will keep a eye out for it. Good that insurance is covering it.

Apparently there's been quite a bit of trailer/equipment theft going on lately around Calgary. A guy on Pirate said a lot of stuff from Calgary and Edmonton seems to find it's way to Prince George

I know we are getting hit really hard in our stores.  A lot of tools being stolen.  In the past week I think there have been 2 arrests and 3 or 4 more that got away.

Sorry to hear this Vince!! I hope it works out good for you in the end...sounds like it might.

There does seem to be more theft around lately, or maybe we are just hearing about it more... I know of a couple trucks and side by sides etc stolen around my neighbourhood in the past month....gotta keep our ears and eyes peeled all the time!  >:(

I'm with Clay's suggestion Vince. A picture is worth the thousand words. License number is probably useless at this time.  I've been working in the Mahogany area for the last few years and will sure keep an eye out for it but there's hundreds of work trailers now a days.  Good luck with recovering or replacing everything.

Believe it or not, I had that trailer for 5 years but can't find a single picture of it.

After approval from the insurance co., I picked up a new trailer the same day that one was stolen. Now the tedious task of oitfitting it, shelving, hooks, RV battery, lights etc. I'm also going to get a GPS locator for this one.
