I forgot to post times... so here is a blurb from last year's post...
Rough outline of the day:
The course will take place at the Mclean Creek off highway land use area. We will be meeting at the Mclean Creek store from 7:30 am to 8:30 am. At 9am we'll start with introduction to off roading instruction, along with various beginner obstacles to get you acquainted with your jeeps capabilities. Around noon we'll have a short lunch break (you’re responsible to bring your own lunch as well as addition food and drinks the rest of the day). Then we'll head out for a trail ride with CJA members providing instruction and support throughout the way. Please note that this is an offroading activity and there is always the possibility that damage and scratches can occur to any vehicle. The trail guides will do their best to prevent / minimize any potential damage to the vehicles, but the potential is always there.

And let's not forget sunscreen and bug spray with the hope that we will need to use the first and not have to use the latter. 8) :o

Long range weather forecast is saying 40-50mm next Saturday in the bragg creek area. We won't make any decisions about cancelling yet but if the forecast holds true this Friday, we will probably cancel / postpone this event. That is too wet to be standing around outside for the morning. Check back on friday evening for the latest.

"Rain or shine" but not Monsoon or shine... ;)
I'm up for rain or shine but you have a point, standing in that much rain all morning and then fighting it all afternoon isn't going to be that much fun

Not to mention if it's too wet it causes an excessive amount of trail damage.

Very true. Well either way I have the entire day free'd up so if the organizers still think they can put something together I'll be out with my boots and good jacket.

Oh Calgary area weather... Looks good now, give it another day it will be back to rain I'm sure...

The 101 is a go... bring appropriate footwear and clothing as it going to be damp. See everyone out there between 7:30 and 8:30. We will be rolling out from the store to the gravel pit at 8:30.

Is there a suggested donation?

Donation .... what ever you think it was worth at the end of the day. If I totally suck and your jeep goes up in flames you can forego the donation.
Directions .... you got it! That's the store.

Awesome day today, great turnout, even with the rain. Which actually held off through all the field training until we started the trail run at noon. Definitely allowed us to take our new chargees through the paces, including us rescuing an over-committed Ford.
Hope everyone enjoyed themselves!

As others already said, good time out there today and it's always rewarding to see the newer wheelers smiling at the end of the day. ;D
