Title: oil pressure switch
Post by: hamrtime on June 30, 2017, 12:30:55 PM
hi,  89 yj,  oil guage is pegged at 6 bars , replacing the oil sending unit BUT

the original one installed looks like this , its big and bulky and I see these still available online here and there:

local parts store thinks its this one, also 1 wire like above , much smaller design closer looking to the later 4L sending units that have 2 wires.

anyone changed over to the new style or do I have the wrong part - like to know before I get it dirty and cant return

thanks in advance

well this is all very confusing but after heating up my internet browser I finally found someone having the same part and question as me.

89 yj has oil pressure guage switch (detects oil pressure and heats choke ) and oil pressure sensor ( that runs my guage ),
so I got the wrong part ...

thanks anyway
