Title: How many of you already hit the eval canister on a JK
Post by: tiju1000 on November 14, 2017, 07:29:38 AM
Just curious in our situation where we don't rock crawl like the guys in Utah, how many of you had trouble with the eval canister ?

Currently debating skid vs relocation kit...

Our JK is a 4 doors Rubi... stock...

Either skid it or relocate it. Stumps and logs reach up every now and then.

The odds of it actually getting ripped off are moderately small....but a relocation or skid plate is a LOT cheaper than replacing it.

Any recommendation/experience with some of the relocation kit...

Nemesis, MetalCloak or other ?

Haven’t done anything with mine yet. Not even sure where it’s located.  ;D
Burnt out a rear axle bearing sooner so the canister hasn’t really crossed my mind as being an issue yet.

Matt, you do know that the bearing issue was caused by the excessive speed brought on by having carbon fiber parts on your Jeep. Or maybe it was an identity crisis....it doesn't know if it's a Jeep or a Honda Civic.

OP - I can't make any constructive suggestions here because I put that skid plate on about 9 years ago. I have no idea who manufactured it, let alone what the rest of the market for skid plates and relocation kits looks like. The one thing that I will say is that if you do a relocation, make very sure that you don't pinch, kink, or bend any lines - otherwise you'll have non-stop check engine lights....and the dippers will start hunting you as a carbon criminal.

I'm pretty sure it's right in here matt.

Doesn't look like it's an issue with JKs like it is on the JKUs

Google found this video, I don't know if it's good or not so please do research:

For sure... when the JK is in that position it will not hit anything....

Well except perhaps an angry guy using his foot  ::)
