The Calgary Jeep Association is pleased to announce our 10th annual Off-Road 101 Course.
This is a one day, family friendly course that is open to anyone that will introduce participants to the basic skills that are necessary during an Off-Road adventure, as well as safe and environmentally friendly practices while on the trail.
Rough outline of the day:
The course will take place at the Mclean Creek off highway land use area. We will be meeting at the Mclean Creek store from 7:30 am to 8:30 am. At 9am we'll start with introduction to off roading instruction, along with various beginner obstacles to get you acquainted with your jeeps capabilities. Around noon we'll have a short lunch break (you’re responsible to bring your own lunch as well as addition food and drinks the rest of the day). Then we'll head out for a trail ride with CJA members providing instruction and support throughout the day. Please note that this is an offroading activity and there is always the possibility that damage and scratches can occur to any vehicle. The trail guides will do their best to prevent / minimize any potential damage to the vehicles, but the potential is always there.
The number of registrants will be limited to 20. There is now a waiting list to join!
Date: June 8, 2019
Registration is on a first come, first serve basis. Please send a PM to: specialk or send an email to [email protected]

There will probably be mud. You and your prissy wagon may not enjoy that. Your ancientness probably won't remember that from last year. Just sayin...

My Jeep was on stands last year this time, it was fun hopping in and out of all the jeeps as needed. That said I think you need to represent with the JL on 37s...

He needs a refresher course.

I think I can join as well. Looks like there should be enough help but I can bring a couple give away items.

We would love to join if there is space and learn how to pull out a JL with an Xj! Lol.

Hey all,
I just wanted to extend a big thank you for organizing this event and for all the help today following my vehicle issue. I hope it didn't put too much of a strain on the flow of the event there, but I very much appreciate the expertise and guidance with getting out!
I had a great time and so did my passengers.
Hope to join again sooner rather than later (and with skid plates).
Thank you again!
Kevin

A few photos from 101. I had a good laugh when I saw that my phone (hema maps) was tracking the whole time we were winching the blue JK though the big hole, along my attempt. Also found the source of the smoke...two plugs covered in oil. My cheep manifold gasket seems to be the culprit with 160 psi+ compression on both of those cylinders and brand new valve seals.
