Looking for new tires
« on: December 31, 2008, 07:10:50 PM »
Hi,

Im looking for some new 33's for my TJ. I prefer a mud tire but nothing extreme like a bogger.
I was thinking about Dick Cepek mud country's or Mickey Thompson MTz's.
Any suggestions?

I'm running cooper stt's, they are quiet on the highway and do pretty good around town on snow and ice for a mud tire.
This is not 'Nam, this is wheeling.  There are rules.

I'm running a set of 31" KM's

KM2's come in everthing from 215/75R15C to 335/55R22D

KM's have been discontinued by BFG but you should still be able to find a set around.

I have been considering the MT MTZ's but I like the look of the Baja Claw's...
EVerything that I have read, Petersons and etc have said that the MTZ is an all around good tire.
Better then pro comps newest mudder. DP mud country or BFG's...
But I havent read alot about the newest BFG mudder, I am very interested in it.
Wondering where to buy them though.

We've got TRXUS on the TJ....almost 40,000 Km's on them now.  On New Years eve, I had Dick Cepek Mud Country's put on my 4Runner...a little early to tell you much about them.
Initial impressions:
As quiet as the BFG Long Trail that I had on before...
Far better in snow than the BFG.

I'll post my review of these here once I have some real Km's on them, and have been on the trail.

I have read  ALOT! about the toyo's having issues of chunks breaking off due to wearing, have you had any issues like that?
