What is a 14 bolt worth?

About 5 bucks at calgary metal these day.

Full float with drums 50-1500
Full float with disks 300-500
Semi float = boat anchor

So gm told me it's a 3.73 posi with 9.5 ring gear, but everywhere else says it's a 10.5 ring gear.
Can anybody help me i.d "it".
"The info I have is from a 4 wheel parts catalog.

GM 10 Bolt 8.5" ring gear - axles are either 28 or 30 spline

GM 12 Bolt 8.875" ring gear - axles are 30 spline

GM 14 Bolt 9.5" ring gear - semi floating, egg shaped cover plate

GM 14 Bolt 10.5" ring gear - full floating, 6 bolt removable pinion support.

This is listed in what many believe the order of strength, the 10 bolt being the weakest and the 14 bolt full floater the strongest.

It's obviously a full floating, which, according to what you just posted, has a 10-1/2"ring gear.

Exactly. Still only a 200$ axle though. Those 14 bolts are a dime a dozen. You'll find them as "get them out of my yard" freebies on occasion.

What else did you need to know about the 14B?

Are you going to swap gears in it?? A great diff to start on because of the use of spanners....

Disc Brake swap is advised, those drums gotta weight 100lbs each,
