Need some help. clutch/engine

1)

Truck runs fine until I push 4000rpm driving around.  After that, when i stop and go again, it seems like the clutch doesn't engage completly or the truck looses power.  It seems to struggle (no matter what gear) until it hits about 1500rpm, then it kicks in to normal.  After all this, when i get out i can smell it burning.

Is this an easy fix, or one that will require the clutch come out? If it needs out, i don't have the knowledge to do a clutch job, or the time to learn.  Any recommendations for shops?

2)

My truck seems to run alot better in colder (around -5) weather than a warm day.  Is this something i should worry about?

Please let me know as I plan to drive to red deer in a month and I don't want any problems getting there.

Sounds like two seperate issues from your breif description.

You have a worn out clutch, and some motor trouble.
