Where do I pick up this "belt dressing" you speak of? Canadian tire?

Same place you get muffler bearings

Are you an adult?
Are you looking to be spoon fed?
Me and several others have given you ideas on how to fix your simple problem. It's not rocket science.

Are you going to jump into fourwheeling armed with only a modicum of knowledge on how your TJ works?
Are you going to expect others to help you when something breaks on your Jeep or stand and watch helplessly?

I'm not being mean kid. I talked Eric into greenlighting you for this weekends run and I've also pm'ed you in the past offering you help with your Jeep.

I am most certainly an adult!  The first thing I learned as an adult was to seek out advice from those that have more wisdom and knowledge of things that you do not, so you don't whined up screwing yourself over! I would rather get some simple info of how to fix my problem before screwing around with a piece of equipment that could cost me 300$ to replace.  I could also spend hours of my time searching out info on the web (that may not be accurate) or I could ask the guys on this forum that I have come to trust a great deal.  So spoon feed NO, but resourceful YES!

Additionally, I will be the first to admit that I ask simple questions, which require simple answers.  I am here to increase my very limited knowledge of Jeeps (auto mechanics in general) and if you are going to take the time to answer my questions, then why not just answer them!  I have no intention of being the guy on the runs that is helpless when problems or breakages occur or the guy that takes his Jeep into the shop to be fixed everytime! Hell I was proud of myself for mounting and balancing my own tires/wheels and for changing my headlights!  That being said if you feel like I need to keep these types of questions to myself and search out the answers myself then I can do that.  But I was under the impression that this was an open forum where guys like me could learn!!!

Finally, Tubby I did not mean to offend you!  I apologize if I crossed a line with my comment. I thought that you and I a bit of a repour due to our previous conversations and I was just being playful...

No trap here! I'm not a guy to hold a grudge  :)

Knox do you apply the belt dressing on the wiper blade motor or on the hinges that come out of the hood?

You have been the victim of an inside joke and I apologize for having a laugh at your expense.  To clear things up, belt dressing is for belts.  Do not spray it on your wiper motor, do not spray it on your hinge or spring, do not buy it.
I just can’t resist a good mud hole!  🤦

I was curious about the name... thought it was one of those things that had an original use, but became multi-purpose...  :-\

Looks like I need to start asking more serious questions on here to avoid this happening again!

First timer, the best hundred or so dollars you'll ever spend on each vehicle you ever buy and own is to order the proper shop manual (not owners manual). Don't get Chilton or Hanyes (proper name optional), but get the specific manual from your jeep dealer or through the mail.

Internet can be brutal sometimes. Shop manual is well worth it in so many ways.
