What did you do to your Rig Today
« on: February 14, 2011, 10:08:38 AM »
I was reading through the old thread like this one and thought it was interesting and seemed to have some traction so I figured what the hell I would start a new on (the old one is over 2 years old)

I straightened out my left front adjustable sway bar link..............it was a little bendy new ones on the way this week.
Re-centered my steering - same issue that caused the above caused a little steering movement
Re-Seated my right front coil spring, it had jumped out of the seating channel in the bottom.

I think Rubi was a bit mad at me............she bit me when I was pulling the sway link out.

Finally installed my daystar hood latches........man are they tight no more hood flutter for sure.

Soooooo what did you do to your rig today.

Nothing today, but yesterday I got the compressor install finished so it works now and went down to see Simon to try and figure out my CB issue...it just started working all of a sudden so that's fixed too.

Gathering parts for the big trip back to the Mojave in April.   Picked up the CB antenna bracket and windshield light brackets.  Installed new headlights to take H4 bulbs.  Still looking for soft top roll bar brackets and rear retainer bar.   Give me a few more days of warm weather to get it done....... 8)

I drove mine to work today... But tomorrow, I will likely put her up on stands, rotate the rubber, and install a couple of new skid plates!

Thanks for the new toys Waytec! ;)
I did a Google search for "hot trannies" but nothing came up about oil coolers  :o

Worrying too much about mpg with a Jeep is similar to worrying about your sister's virginity. An ok thing to be concerned about but...

Yesterday i changed out my hub units for the second time in a 6 monthish period. There was just over an inch of play maybe a little more  on the driverside :o. Auto value honoured the warrenty on the crappy BCA bearings. After doing this, the jeep braked better and was significantly less noisey.

Today, I took it to the dealer for the engine tick, they declared it alittle noisey but not enough. It certainly ticks  but my warrenty is good till 2012 so they just told me to keep an ear on it. Jeep has an exhasut leak from a stray log that may contribute to noise so..... no resolution as far as I am concerned. Plus for engine warrenty they need proof of oil changes, thats kind of hard when you do them yourself...I think i got most of my reciepts though.

Adjusted my steering center............again (think I have it this time)

Given that the warm weather is gone for a bit, I washed about 100lbs of road silt off of it.

Fixed the roof rack so it doesn't rattle.

....almost time to rotate the tires though, thanks for reminding me Simon!
