ZJ's, the most dangerous vehicle on the road today!
« on: June 10, 2011, 11:48:43 AM »
Hahaha, this article made me laugh... Poor ZJ guys! But seriously. The most dangerous vehicle on the road? The explanation they give us to why applies to many vehicles built in that time period...not just the ZJ.

Between the axles.

I'm gonna light me up a cigar and tailgate JohnnyC. Anyone wanna join me? ;D
I followed a rainbow out to a garage and found a leprichaun. The rainbow ended in a potted cactus on his porch, but there was no gold :(

Yup, JK is between the axles off to one side... Just seems silly to me.

i read about this a couple months ago. "they" were looking into suspicious rear-end accidents where the tank exploded. kinda like the pinto i guess. but when you consider that there are about 10 million zj/wj on the road, a few minor odd-ball accidents are going to happen. and yes, a lot of vehicles have tanks in the rear. from every company out there.

Turns out that my pickup truck also falls into the most dangerous vehicle on the road for a few years back. Its a 73 chev with dual saddle tanks, on the outsides of the frame rails! There were enough fires from 73-79 to finally convince GM to put the tanks inside the frames past 1980 :)
I did a Google search for "hot trannies" but nothing came up about oil coolers  :o

Worrying too much about mpg with a Jeep is similar to worrying about your sister's virginity. An ok thing to be concerned about but...

It's a shame we've all become a bunch of sissies. That's too dangerous, don't drink that, don't run with scissors. I'd take a rear mounted fuel tank over one of these...
