Removing a flywheel on a 2000 TJ 2.5l
« on: November 09, 2011, 10:59:33 PM »
Well,  I've got my engine out and a replacement ready to go in.  Trying to remove the 6 bolts on the flywheel from the old motor.  I only have a 13 gallon compressor which did nothing.  Tried my 4 foot snipe, that didn't seem to do much either although I really couldn't hold the crank well enough at the same time (if that's even the correct method).

Any advice would be appreciated.  Thx.

If I need a biggger compressor, good excuse to get it.

place ur 1/2 inch rachet and socket on it and smack it with a large hammer    it should break the bolts free

Thanks Rubi03 jef .  Worked like a charm.  Now I just need to get the rear main seal out.  Not having any luck there.

PA has internal seal pullers for pretty cheap, can't remember if I have one collecting dust in my toolbox or not.

Rear main  or pilot bearing

Rear main pull the oil pan. And then remove the most rear bearing cap the seal is under that

Pilot bearing.  I have a pulled if u need one let me know I'll bring it home from work tonight
