McLean Creek bioengineering project
« on: October 10, 2014, 10:45:39 AM »
GWAS and Cows and Fish are planning some bioengineering work around Silvester Creek in McLean. The location is easily accessible off the shared use road that leads to the gravel pit, fish west, and elbow falls. The work will take place on October 18th and 19th. The plan is to meet at the McLean Creek store at 9:30am. If you're interested in helping out please contact [email protected].

I have sent her an email to get more details.

It would be great to have some CJA representation out there for this.  I am working next weekend unfortunately so I won't be able to participate.

I will post up details as I get them.

Thanks Marc.

Here is the reply I got from Marina;

Hello Dan,

thank you for your email and interest in the project! We are hoping to get around 20 volunteers for the.

Tasks will be to harvest willows across the road from the site and plant them as well as helping to install a fence and some matting where the cattle accesses the stream.

If volunteers had shovels, large hand pruners, safety glasses and good gloves, that would be great.

I have attached the poster for the project for your reference. We will be serving a free hot lunch, so please ask people to RSVP to make sure we order enough food.

Sincerely,

Marina Krainer
GWAS

Bump for tomorrow! Hope to see you all there. Look for the silver 4Runner with the RTT and say hi.

How did it go today?  Was anyone able to make it out from our group?
