97 Grand Cherokee Hesitation

Hi. I just bought my GC and found this site and figured this is the best place to ask. My Jeep hesitates when I accelerate, especially when the engine is cold. I have replaced the spark plugs, wires, cap, rotor, PCV valve, air filter and the coil. I think it might be the fuel filter, but everywhere I have checked noted that under normal circumstances the filter should not need to be replaced since it is located with the fuel pump in the gas tank. For some stupid reason there is no external or in-line fuel filter. ny idea what else it might be, or I am stuck removeing the gas tank?
Thanks,
Chris
