Need advice...
« on: July 20, 2016, 10:34:51 AM »
Hello everyone,

I have 3 Jeeps at the moment: 94 and 96 Cherokees and a '13 Rubi.  The 94 is perfect and we use it daily, and the '96 runs great, but is no longer road-worthy.  It's all fixable, but I don't have the time/money/or need to do it.  It has some door and hood latch issues, wobbly driver's seat, rust holes etc.  All of the electrical and mechanical systems are perfect though (it could use a new clutch after nearly 400k on the original one  :) ).  Always fires up first try after sitting for extended periods of time.

I've been trying to decide what to do with it: keep some quick-fix parts off of it for the '94 including the barely used Duratrac tires (which are worth more than the Jeep), and then part the rest out, or try to sell the whole thing to someone, or just have the junk guys take it away - which would be a shame.

I have had a couple ads out, including on here, to part it out and there's no real interest in anything substantial.  I'd rather it go to someone who would actually want to use it for something like a project or a donor vehicle rather than me getting anywhere between $60-$120 for it from junk guys and see it go to the crushers.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Give the 96 to Cory. He is currently jeep less. He has an unfulfilled jeep and trail ride addiction.
Aka bigfoot tj or cjust on this forum.

I will tell my buddy Grayson about it. I'm trying to persuade him out of his Pathfinder and into a proper wheeling vehicle (ie. a Jeep).

I'm definitely willing to work with someone on a mutually satisfying deal/compromise.  :)

As bill and Andy said I'm currently jeepless and have been for a year now. Shoot me a pm if you want to unload the 96

So after meeting with Russ today to look over the Jeep I think this is best for a part out. Anyone willing to twist a wrench for extra parts will be worth while.

Hp30 front
8.25 rear
Ax15 trans.
Unsure if it's a 242 or 231 t/c
390k on all the parts.

This jeep should not be scrapped!
But also should not be on the road.

Good parts xj for anyone who needs it

Thanks for your thoughts and advice today, Cory.  Hopefully all those good parts won't go to waste.
