BB lift on stock 2001 TJ
« on: May 22, 2018, 01:20:11 PM »
So I re-entered the Jeep world recently as I bought a clean 2001 TJ Sport that I have know the owner since it was new.  I've got an old 1965 yellow CJ6 out in Invermere that I wheeled extensively, and it still run does snow plow duties at my parents, and previously owned a TJ.

I'm looking for a budget 1.5/2" BB lift for now as the previous owner put 31's on it  https://www.4wheelparts.com/Suspension/TeraFlex-1-5-Inch-Budget-Boost-Lift-Kit-1341200.aspx?t_c=1&t_s=38&t_pt=3533&t_pn=TER1341200 - but I've done lots of research some say use stock shock, most say use ones 1.5/2" longer, some say bump stop  are required some don't http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f9/bumpstops-shock-length-tires-size-help-me-iron-out-fuzzy-points-734737/

Has anyone done exactly this?  Not looking to go for a more expensive lift at this time, just a little more room to run and flex the 31's without off road rubbing (previously it was a pavement princess)

I get my stuff through Broken Axle.  They will treat you right and you're dealing with club members not a big corporate entity.

+1. I've been 100% happy with every bit of work that Broken Axle has done for me - and even when they had nothing to gain from it, they have always treated me like I matter.

I'll also say that I have first-hand knowledge of them going to bat for a club member who was getting the run-around from a manufacturer....they invested a ton of time and hard work to make sure that he was properly taken care of.
I followed a rainbow out to a garage and found a leprichaun. The rainbow ended in a potted cactus on his porch, but there was no gold :(

They're pretty competitive with their pricing too. Especially when it comes to certain big box stores.
if we were smart with our money we wouldn't own Jeeps.
Here's your cup of STFU... ENJOY!
