Camping and Campsites

Hey, New ish guy here.  I was wondering what the rules/etiquette are for backcountry camping in Alberta?  I hope to get a weekend or two and get out for a night or two. 

I have read a couple of rules and regulations posted by the Alberta Government.  I want to do it right and make sure that I do not mess thing up for anyone else.  It seems pretty basic, but I wanted to make sure that I am not missing some unwritten rule and become that guy. 

Also, I was also hoping to get started maybe some people could recommend some good random campsites in southern Alberta?

First and foremost is pack out what you pack in. Leave the spot in better condition then when you arrived.
If you make a fire be smart about it, a circle of rocks and don’t re-intact the burning man festival. Triple check to make sure the fire is out when you’re done.
Keep your food safely away from animals that can get it.
I think there is a rule about how close you can camp to water as well.

The 100ft from water is a rule for horses however it may apply to camping too.  You do want to be near water for ease of extinguishing the fire but don't wash your jeep in it.

Follwoing the rules for the Kananaskis area even if you're not in the Kananaskis area is a safe bet.

Oh avoid camping near social trails too, ie: don't cut off animals from the water, don't lead animals directly to your campsite...
