wierd jeep prblem

today on way back from 4x4 ing my jeep lost all motion moving .I could rev up engine but it could not move .eric stoped bye<thanks eric>and saw that drive shaft moved but that as all.thought it could be my unit bearings .I drove jeep into brag creak in 4h using only my front drive .when got into town i tried shifting my jeep back into 2h and it worked great again and had no prblems getting it home. this is 3rd time jeep did it .was looked at bye broken axle after first time and they couldn't see problem then

My suggestion is if you are in a safe position to do so when it happens again lift the jeep on one side and in both neutral and in gear turn the lifted wheel (assuming open diff) and see where the problem is. Sounds weird.
