New to alberta
« on: July 11, 2019, 01:33:10 PM »
Hi everyone. Im new to the Alberta. Just moved here and brought my samurai and jeep with me expecting to have lots of places to go wheeling. Im finding out that is not the case. My samurai and jeep are not road legal and so I cant change the ownership of them here in alberta because they wont pass out of province inspection. Everyone I've talked to says that pretty much everything has been shut down out here. I thought I would be good to go on crown land but I guess not. Can anyone give me a bit more information? I would like to do everything by the book so I don't have to worry while im out wheeling. had some people say just go for it that they have never been bothered on crown land. Any information I can get on off road only vehicles for trail riding and registering a offroad only vehicle would be appreciated. Im starting to think that I cant even sell them out here if I need to since it will be an ownership from my home province. Registry office has told me that only quads and dirt bikes can get a off highway plate

First off, Welcome to Alberta!

As far as your rigs go you may be able to get them licensed as ATV’s. I did see a heavily modified Jeep TJ licenced as such a few years ago. I believe it was issued a new VIN as well.
My advice would be to contact a registry office and ask about it. And as an FYI, all vehicles used on crown land must be licenced and insured.

Good luck and let us know how it works out for you.

Oh yeah, the Calgary Jeep Association is having our annual Show & Shine this Sat at KMS tools, fell free to stop by and meet some fellow wheelers.

That was deliberate. Vince is good at the mathings even though he ain't smrt. That's why we always have plenty of money for stuff.
I followed a rainbow out to a garage and found a leprichaun. The rainbow ended in a potted cactus on his porch, but there was no gold :(
