U-joint part numbers

I ordered front driveshaft u-joints last week. I went and picked them up on Saturday, and I'm sure they are the axle u-joints, and not the driveshaft ones. 5-260X is what was orderd for me. I may have said "Axle" when I meant "Driveshaft" I guess.

Could someone please post the correct Spicer U-joint numbers for a 91 YJ with Dana30/35 axles? Thanks!

The axles are 260x and I believe the driveshafts (both front and rear) are something like 1310

Spicer 5-260X & 1X are 1310wj joints. 1310wj is the oem part number, 260-X is the spicer part number.

They should be the same all the way through.

Unless the driveshaft use slightly bigger caps. Those are spicer 297's. Same 1310 joint, just larger cap diameters.

This explains my confusion. I really need a factory service manual, this Haynes is a POS.

5-153x are the spicer greasable joints for the driveshafts, but I upgraded to the 5-785x which are non-greasable but better cap seals

Auto Value part #'s are

Axle PM378 $23.40

Driveshafts PM280$14.90 ea

Both are heavy duty w/zerks. Just changed all mine on the weekend so this is current pricing.

Thanks. Are the axles much harder than the driveshafts?

Little bit. But mostly because you have to tap the caps off, which is a real PITA. Patience and a good vice are key.
