Towing a Harley...
« on: May 29, 2005, 11:28:56 PM »
So, non 4x4 and Family friendly chit chat....

On my way back from the pub tonight, I spotted an old harley and an old biker broke down just beside the 8th ave flyover in the NE. I stopped to see if I could give a hand or lend some tools. Seemed like the biker picked a fight with the harley and the harley won. Chain was off the rear sprocket. We got the master link off his chain tried to hook everthing back up. Turns out his forward sproket decided to chew up 6 inches of his chain. Nothing could be done for a roadside fix.

So, tree saver wrapped around front bars and forks, shackled to a tow strap, strap to rear hitch, and a slow crawl home.

Never thought I would be towing a Harley with a big-old tatooed biker  riding on it. First time for everything I guess

Goes to show that it helps to have all your gear with you all the time. Anyways, just thought I would share the story.

Cheers

Greg
