100,000 mile club on jeep engines
« on: August 21, 2008, 08:39:30 PM »
just realized I put about +112,000 miles (not km) on my 4.2L , wondering who
else is seeing higher mileage on their 4/4.2L or 4cyl and how its holding together ...
I know a few with +280,000 km on their older 6cyl ...

I burn literally no oil per 3/4000km, had a scare earlier this year where it started
over 3 months eating about 1ltr per 400km (ouch) but new valve seals cured that ...

I'm thinking my old ZJ (that belongs to cLAY now) has almost double that now.....I think she was sitting around 265,000km when I sold her.

I think my 95 YJ was in the 250,000k range too....

I just sold a Mercedes diesel sedan with 432,000 miles....does that count for something? My other only has something like 412,000 miles....

My 4.0L had 403,000km on it before I rebuilt it.  The bottom end was not dead yet it just needed a head gasket, but since I was rebuilding the entire jeep I built it then.
