I'm putting a 3'' body lift on my '03 TJ, and I'm getting 15X8 off set rims. I'm wondering if I have other options for bigger or beafier tires. Any opinions are much appreciated. I'm new to all this and am not sure which way to go here.

I'm not an expert with TJs but I know that 3" body lift is not the greatest ... Why are you going with a 3" body lift?
I don't understand your question also... Do you want to know what size tire you can fit with that Lift? or you want to know what's a good tough tire?
let us know what you wnat to do with your Jeep...

I've done the 3" body lift and went with 31X10.5. Now I'm looking at a 4" suspension lift to go with it. Wondering about the axles after I do this. Excited but scared about it. What do you think?

7" of lift and 31s will not be the best for stability, it will be quite tippy. As for axles it all depends on what size tires you want to go with and what axles you currently have. Your questions can't be accurately answer until we know this.

What about drive shaft length? angle?
when I did 4" springs on my yj,.. I had to make a new rear DS and clock my axle up + 1" t-case drop

My $0.32, FWIW.
Things you will likely need to do, assuming you move forward with your plan above.
Body lift:
- fan shroud clearance issues, expect to modify
- Tcase linkage alignment...expect to either replace linkage with aftermarket adaptor, OR crawl underneath the Jeep to shift. About $50 (I've done both ;D )
Coils 3"+ :
- for comfort and usability, plan on SYE and a new rear driveshaft. $600+ to your current plans
Tires...I would recommend 31", unless you plan to regear. We run 33's, and 4.10's, and dream of 4.88. Yes, it will be driveable, but you'll likely not be happy with it either in town or on the highway.

i would personally ditch the body lift and do a 4 inch suspension lift. they can be found relatively cheap and are straight forward to install. with that you can run a 33 inch tire, and there are many used sets around that would fit your rims. as far as axles go, you probably have a D3o front and D35 rear. if you stick to a 33 inch tire you should be fine. will be a little luggish on the highway and stuff, but overall still driveable, and unlessl you drive like you hate your jeep you shouldn`t break anything.
or just keep the body lift and run 33s. my buddy does that. he hates the body lift though.
just to reiterate what others are saying on here..... if u go bigger than 4 inches of lift and 33 inch tires get ready to break the bank. welcome to the `jeep`thing

Ditch the body lift and do a 3" or 4" suspension lift and go with eithert 31" or 32" tires. I'll assume a D35/30 combo with stock gearing (3.07 or 3.55), 33" tires would be borderline on driveability. If you check out the TJ section of jeepforum.com, there are a lot of guys there who have one exactly what you want to do.

I have a YJ running a 2.5" lift and 31" M/Ts, 2.5L angry squirrel motor and stock 4.10 gearing. It's a dog on the highway, terrible on steep hills (3rd gear) and fine off road. The small lift is enough, keeps the center of gravity low and the costs down.

im looking to just throw on a 2.5 suspention lift and 33's any one think i should just wait and go to 4.5 and 33's
i have a rubicon will i need a SYE right away
