Any body ever try or are currently running a performance chip for the 4.0,any significant difference?
-
anyone run an offroad performance cam shaft in the 4.0?
-
I've heard a stage 2 chip and a throttle body spacer and a cold air kit add a noticable increase in power, haven't tried myself, but i do plan too in the future.

From everything I have ever read on chips for Jeeps, they are not worth the money...nor is is a TBS. I've used them before and they made no noticable difference.
Exaust, header, 62mm TB and cold air intake is your best bet. MSD coil blaster and MSD wires help too.

a buddy of mine put a stage 2 chip (jetchip) in his grand cherokee with 5.2 v8. the jeep is stock but he noticed a big difference. the 4.0L would do well with the other upgrades first. and a cam does help them out. all these upgrades work very well together.

Staring point on any 4 litre after 95 is a cam. Anything done before that will recognize minimal to no gains at all due to the emissions related restrictions in the engine.

Any recommendations for camshafts? Manufacturer? Type?
I'm watching this thread with my own interests in mind.
Thanks!
