Title: Anyone have 2.5 starter noise

I have a 95 2.5 with an AX5 transmission.  I changed the transmission and removed the starter.  When I put it back together the starter makes a loud squealing noise while starting.  I used the same bell housing so there should be no difference.  Any ideas?

mine does it when its cold out i know what you are talking about.  After it warms up it starts with no squeal.  Im all stock parts no change outs but nothing has happened yet.  I wouldnt worry about it yet

Mine makes noise every time whether cold or hot

you probably got some grits and or water in it i have the same problem is your starter shaft with the sprocket on it that turns your fly wheel i tryed putting a lil lub on it which works for a lil bit then does it again and or your starters going i have been through 2 starters in two different jeep yjs with the same motors

I just had it rebuilt and it still does it.
