Gearhead rides some nice bikes and knows a ton about them.
SpinalGuy has a really nice streetbike.
XJWrencher has a bike I believe.
I have an 01 Suzuki Marauder, an 85 Honda Shadow 500 (Karens ride), and a couple of 82 XZ Yamaha 550's.

Robin, you must live on 13 acres... 43 Jeeps, 5 bikes, 14 cars, 6 cats, 4 dogs, and a partridge in a pear tree.... and the wife... can't forget her.

Calltrex: If you don't have a ton of experience riding on the street I highly higly recommend a course to get your licence. It may seem like a pain esp since you've ridden dirt bike a lot (I did too as a kid growing up) but it will save you money on your insurance and give you some pointers that you may not have even considered about riding on the street. The guys at TooCool Motorcycle school are supposed to be just awesome... A couple of guys that work with me took the course through them this year and really enjoyed it. The other nice thing about taking a course is they'll set things up and let you do your road test on their bikes.
Immortal: LOL... no cats... and only 1 dog... with 3 legs. Having a corner lot with decent parking in the alley helps alot!

I already took the week long course for my license a long time ago

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm..............................BIKES !!!
I like mine in RED. ::)
-
yep i have one its a 83 v45 magna nothing special just use it for booting back and forth to work when its nice out...well that was a whole 3 days this year ::)
-
You should be all set then CallTrex. I took mine ages ago too... was definitely a good thing to do. I highly recommend it to anyone thinking of getting into riding on the street.
Oh yeah forgot ... Rubi rides too... he knows a thing or 2 about fast bikes. His Ducati is a thing of beauty (and very very red).
XJWrencher... I feel your pain... I think I've ridden my Marauder about 3 or 4 times this year too. More a time issue than anything.

I rode motorbikes for a decade or two and still occasionally do. I liked small two stroke road race replicas (Yamaha RD350 and RZ350), I liked the way they came on the power band and the nimble handling. Even spent a half season road racing up at the old Edmonton track - great place to develop your skills to a high level. My Honda CBR600F2 was the best sport bike I owned - haven't owned any current bikes. My friend owns a GSX-R 750, it's a great sport bike, handles very well and is fast - you won't be disappointed. Your background racing dirt bikes is a terrific basis for road bikes, many of the top road racers started out sliding bikes on the dirt. Avoiding speeding tickets and challenges from other sport bike riders can be an issue. I've also been on several rides where riders went down and ended up in the hospital - needless to say but I have to: be careful - you are a soft body on top of a fast projectile moving through a landscape full of hard objects :o ;D ;) It's a thrilling activity, I still toy with the idea of a new Honda 600 or a Ducati 848.

A cop deliberately pulls out so biker crashes into him. in the background u can hear the cop squeal his tires to get out there....
Unbelievable

79 Honda CX500 liquid cooled v-twin shaft drive, fun little bike with decent torque and unique sound. Found it in mint shape with 14000km on it in a barn in Saskatchewan. Sold it 2 months ago to my uncle with instructions that I get to buy it back if he sells it.
Also have a 1977 BMW R100/7 done up as an RS model. Original owner was married to a BMW mechanic who did the conversion, second owner was a collector who never rode it, and now it's mine. It has over 135K km on it and runs great (except for an electrical gremlin that I can't seem to find)
