Thanks. I want to check out Waiparous. I haven't been yet. :P I know McLean can get nasty on a long weekend specially may long.. but i'm hoping this will be just for a friday-sunday type deal in April lol depending on weather of course... but I want it to be SUPER Muddy!

i like maclean better especially after yesterday at waiprous :'( took a toll on my ZJ

McLean Creek does not open until Apirl 30th and is closed on Dec 1st. So if you want to go out in April it won't be McLean

Wow thanks! That was some useful information for me! (i'm entirely serious) lol. My plan was around April based on weather conditions. If it's in April we know McLean's out at least! :D All the more reason to go to Waiparous. ;)

Waiparous is a nice gentle runs all day...live close to there so been on every trail that is open that is where I (Kerri) learned to wheel...
-
I see you are planning a trip in April can be wet out that time of year, but it still can be frozen. Ice can be fun as well.
You are saying that you are hoping for mud please keep in mine that as a club and more as a 4x4er we are trying to reopen trails and more so keep what we have open. So please keep in mine trail etiquette when out their. Don’t give the powers at be more ammo then they already have.

went out camping last year on the last weekend of april to wiaporous and I know there were a few spots where I knew where puddles were and sure enough the old jeep would be half way across the ice and I would fall through. I knew the puddle enough to know how deep it was so was just a 2-3 foot drop. The crappy think was I had to break the rest of the ice to get to the other side. Takes a toll on the front end. Just a heads up on that if you don't know what your crossing!!
Good luck

tread lightly .. if its already muddy fine go play but dont make small holes bigger then they need to be ..

Okay just as an announcement to everyone on here. I DO NOT CONDONE destructive behaviour. Just because i say "I wanna get muddy" doesn't scream "let's rip up the ground and destroy everything in sight" I stick to trails, I don't spin my tires excessively and I pick up after myself. Stop judging me based on the words I wanna get muddy.
I'm not destructive stop assuming I am. If you see me destroy land then say something if not then don't think you know everything. I'm sorry if you think im rude for saying it this way but so far none of you except Asia and DubbleJs have been on a run with me so you can't possibly know if Im destructive. Get your facts right before you judge somebody.
I just like to get "available" mud on the jeep thats all.

as far away from people as possible.

Gonna get flamed for this so go ahead. April is the best time to get muddy , you can just rip her right up chew on those mud holes and have fun. There is still frost in the ground so you don,t chew it up. Just get muddy. Come back a month later and you can not even tell you where there. VS may long weekend when the frost is out of the ground and everything is still wet drive through a hole and make the ruts deeper and the riparian (sp)vegitation can not heal it self like it does in April. Nothing better the Wheeling in April and getting dirty.

Fair enough. No one is judging you.We are a tad sensitive with so many closures. Also, the reason why only Waiporous is being mentioned as a spot to go wheel in April.
There are several more areas that do not get voiced publicly anymore as we no longer share information over the internet for fear of traffic accumulation in these 'lesser known' areas.
Enjoy your mud filled days next April...just don't drive around the city with the mud on :)
-
I don't enjoy mud unless there is wiminz wrasslin involved ;D

I am not going to get into it but, I have learned over the years that it is not what you are saying but how you are saying it. If you have a massage, choosing your words carefully can make the difference on how it is perceived. i.e. saying getting dirty instead of getting muddy. The end result is the same but the message is perceived differently. Hey English class did teach me something.
I don’t know you or how you wheel but I am willing to go out on the trail with you sometime and let actions speech for you.

If you have a massage choosing you words carefully. It can make the difference between getting it across or having it fall on def ears. i.e. saying getting dirty instead of getting muddy.
Which would the massage be?
-
I find choosing the words "I want the happy ending" is particularly useful when having a massage :P ;D :) ;) :P

Wasn't spelling, that's for sure ;D

Lol. Mud is my forte. I was the little kid who used to make mudpies for lunch lol.
I mean i've only driven off road a couple times and the only thing i've damaged so far was my buddy's toolbox lol.. so if your scared of anything be scared of a dented toolbox lol.
but thanks for all other suggestions for wording lol.
As for the April trip i'm not putting forth details yet considering how early it is (i like to have things well planned in advance) but I plan to make it a public trip and all of you are welcome :) So when the time comes i'll be posting it in the appropriate section :)
I want a really rocking, dirty birthday :D I never do anything for my birthday so this next one I plan to go all out and have a really good time :D
-
Hey I can not spell worth a crap but nether could Einstein.
Sounds like a run is on for April. My wife’s birthday is also in April so maybe cake for lunch is an idea.

Yum Cake I Love Cake. Had The most DELICIOUS Strawberry Cake yesterday... I love Chinese Cake so damn tasty. I don't think cake for lunch tho I plan to eat something that's more Mobile-Friendly, more wheeling that way LOL!
So soups out.
