Title: Engine vibs
Post by: Yellow RUBI on October 28, 2008, 11:38:05 AM
Last weekend I installed my MORE 1" body lift, JKS 1" lift motor mounts (not the bmml), and my 33 eng. belly up and trans mount (currently using a 1" spacer for exaust clearance).
I've got a vibration that increases with engine speed, regardless if the jeep is moving or not!
Is this common?
Is this from the stiffer urethane motor mounts?
The bolt holes in the new cross member were not perfectly lined up with the new trany mount and I had to use an alignment tool to get the bolts in, could this be the cause?
Any thought would be welcome.
Thx

I have the same thing when I did my 4" lift and 1" t-case drop

driving along the hwy it'll vibrate,.. but when I step on the clutch it won't vibrate, only tire road vibe's

just to add to the question,.. does anyone else know if this is normal?

Did you install the full new mounts and not just the spacers?  If you installed the new mounts then yes you will get more vibs because of the urethane and because the mounts are stiffer but it should not be too bad.  I installed the MORE mounts and I could feel more vibs but it just the standard engine vibs

Yes, I used replacement motor mounts just like these:

Barman, What your describing is drive line vibe due to drive shaft angle I think.
