Well for those of you that I got the pleasure to wheel with while I was up there I just thought I'd let you know what I've been up to in terms of wheeling and career.
I am now the lead engineer in charge of design at Ballistic Fabrication located in Tucson AZ. I've been there for 8 months and have designed over 200 individual parts. I am primarily in charge of all aspects of our sheet metal/plate steel design. Still have 2 semesters left until this ME degree is finished and this a great job right now.
4 rigs I currently wheel or am working on wheeling
98 Taco still
73 CJ 5 with a 304
72 F-250 with a 460, fuel injection 16" travel coilovers up front, 116" wheel base, rear mounted rad, 203/205/NP435 combo, 60 front and rear
and the truck I bought for the g/f to tinker with
83 Toyota Pickup short cab, long bed, going to put a 20 R head on 22R block to up the comp. and put in 22R valves in the head for a little better flow
Working at state of the art offroad part manufacturing facility comes with a few perks ;)
For those of you who don't what we offer, check us out

and yes I am in charge of our prototype 9" so any questions shoot me a Pm.
Happy Trails and I miss the snow wheeling

Great update.
Good for you! :)

Snow wheeling will be coming soon Allen... you can always come up for a visit.
It will be tough to send some to AZ by Mail ;D
Looks like you have having lots of fun down South... great to hear.
-
Thanks for keeping us posted Allen. That's awesome to hear that your doing well down there.
Maybe some discounts for your wheeling bud's up north. ;)
-
When ya coming up?
Your parents still here?
-
And to think with all my Ballistic orders I could have entered a discount code of some sort ;)
Sounds like a great gig Allen (Alan),
-
- No my parents aren't still there, they followed me down here where it's warm lol
- I'm not sure when I could make it up. Maybe a trip after I graduate.
- Pirate 4x4 discount is always good for 5% and 10% for orders over 1000$ I believe
- I'm always open to suggestions for parts if you guys need anything that you just can't get anywhere else. We do one off jobs at a decent price for most sheet metal parts that are either laser cut or CNC bent.
- What's the word on wheeling grounds up there? Any new big closures?
-
why dont u get rid of 3 of those and build a buggy?
you near palm springs? my bro just bought a house there for vacation use. might go there for a trip or 2

Personally I get more gratification from resurrecting the old. I will probably build a buggy some day but not right now. The Ford might as well be though. It's getting some pretty nice parts on it.
Tucson isn't that close to Palm springs.
I am planning a Moab trip for Spring break this year though.
