My father in law has done one,the first time he built up a 454 with a 700r4 auto mathed to a all wheel drive t-case from a astro van,he never lost a race with it,he also did a s/b 383,seems like a easy swap,if you need any specific question i can ask for you.

New laws require the engine to be newer than the chassis you are putting it into.

Since when?
Thats a law in the states, never heard of it here. Can you link something to that?
I would be supprised if this were the case in Alberta, since we dont even have inspections or testing yet. How would they know the difference...............

To answer your question, tons of folks swap SBC's into jeeps.
I work on a freinds CJ regularly that has a 350 in it.
Advance adapters is a great source for swap parts and info.
Extreme radiator builds a conversion all metal rad for smallblocks in jeeps, for an affordable price.
What year of jeep are you working with? The 97?

No such law in Saskatchewan about the engine. If you get pulled over at a road side inspection they are looking for leaks and obvious problems. They do not care what engine is in it.
