I popped in some 2" spring spacers recently. When I took the jeep (2000 TJ) for a test drive there was some slight vibration at higher speeds. So I put some 1/2" spacers under the tranny skid plate. This solved the vibration, but now I'm having some trouble shifting into 2nd (manual) when the tranny is cold. I never had any shifting issues before this at all.
Has anyone else experienced this?

maybe your shift boot or body is the way when you try to shift.this happened to me after i spaced down skid plate(and really bad after body lift haha) mine was hard in reverse and fourth too so....... just a thought.

So what did you do about it? I was kind of figuring it must be the rubber surround thing that the shifter goes through as it heads down to the tranny. I'm pretty sure its not the boot itself though.

I know when I had my Tj after I put in the lift kit and the spacers for the tranny I had the same problem. All I had to do was pop out the shift boot ring so the boot was loose . That sovled my problem.

You should address it asap as you could end up with transmission problems as I did. The tranny won't be engaging completely and cound wear out the gear and syncro prematurely.

Cool, I'll try popping out that boot and see what happens.
