Post by: Jeepster on December 05, 2008, 01:34:28 PM
Just started happening this morning

Getting a clunk sound from what seems to be the passenger rear.
Rear tire seems to almost stop rotating as well, I noticed it squeal on  the pavement.

Turning right there is no isuues , its just turning left.

Any thoughts ?

Spider gears and or limited slip clutches, and or both are trashed.

Pull the cover.

Is the rearend a dana 35? drum brakes? any kind of locker?

Your best bet is to get it up on jack stands and start pulling stuff off.

i just saw a tj with a left rear brake that pretty much came appart. it locked up and you could barely move it. could be the beginning to your clunk. pull rear wheels, pull drums or rotors. check brakes, if all is well, then pull diff cover and watch your xmas money fly away:) sorry to say...
