Title: remote car starters
Post by: JackstandJohnny on December 09, 2008, 09:08:16 AM
hey guys, so i know its not for a jeep, but i'm looking to get one for my sister for christmas, she has a 06 Pontiac Pursuit, and of course its a standard.  I'm just looking on ideas as to where i can get a semi decent starter, and more importantly have it installed correctly, hopefully without breaking the bank

thanks a bunch
John

AutoTemp, just west of Blackfoot, on 42nd Ave South (south side of 42nd). Pretty decent pricing too, if Quinn doesn't work out for ya.

Also look at Audio Concepts.

Quinn has a really, really bad reputation around town with car enthusiasts.....

I've had starters installed at A&B Sound... was happy with the price and the work done.

I have one installed new on my 05 TJ (manual) which has literally never been used once. The dealer had VIBE in Red Deer do the work. They're a client of ours and do good work.

If a removal from the Jeep and install on your sister's car could be swung at Vibe, I'd sell it to you cheap. It's dumb sitting there never being used.

My last starter was installed by Visions in my '07 Savana. It went back five times before it worked properly. That annoyed me, but the fact they made me a priority until I was happy means I'd use them again.

I worked for a&b Sound for years, to bad they are gone... :(   I would go with Visions, I know a few ppl from a&b that work there now and the lifetime install is key.  I'd stay away from Future Shop and Best Buy, I worked for them as well.   Some of their installers are good, but I personally would rather support a Canadian owned company.  I think Audio Concepts is a good choise too, I used to work with the manager, quality products and installation.

I had mine done in my work van (alarm/starter combo) for $500 installed. worked great, never had an issue. I'll use them again.

They did my diesel Ram at Visions on Macleod Trail near Southland (next to CT).
Their installer is top notch at THAT location.
Dan is his name.
i went with the 2way which is more $ but well worth it. Also, i did not go with the real fancy 2way as it eats batteries!

dont forget bout the add on ones. most keys have a chip now that requirese a bypass. im my pt cruiser that also cost me another key for $70 plus there little box under the dash somewhere that was $100. Make sure you find out bout the extras. I laugh when i here these specials for $80. I had an alarm put in at the same time as well as a sub setup at a&b in surrey. The little addons will get you
