Hi,
Does anybody have any advice for building a box for a TJ?
Do you suggest having the subs firing towards the rear door or towards the front?
With them firing towards the rear i am afraid that there would be too much rattling against the rear door....
I have 2 pioneer slim fits to put in...

Just like wheelin'.... always go forward.
-
have them face the floor look on line and you will see what i mean or build 2 small boxes and face them inwards with the back to the wheel wells
-
facing the floor... there isnt enough room... i was looking at the sub box built into the seat but it wont fix 2 12's....
-
facing down like this? It would protect the face of the subs from getting wet.

yes thats what i was talking about. now if 12 dont fit flat just angle them to fit with that idea in mind. NOW heres a question, do you really NEED to put in 2 12's. do you have the stock sub in your center console? if you do then just upgrade it. what part of the city do you live in? maybe we could meet up cause i have a few ideas on sub boxes for a tj cause i have 2 10" alpine type x's and a alpine MRD1000 amp to install in mine

came across this today with this thread in mind...

I know this is only for one 10" but you get the idea..

The jeep is in the kootenay area of BC, I am currently posted in Ontario and the Jeep is on route here on the 30th :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :).....
Can you email me pictures of your set up? [email protected]
i already have the subs/amp bought.... 2 years ago still sitting in their boxes... f@#k! lol so 2 12's it is.
I am thinking having them angled/facing the back seat would be the best thing.

Interesting setup... the colour matches anyways...lol. I think that would put alot of stress on the door, including tire carrier.

I went the easy way and bought a 12" truck sub box from a local audio store. I pointed it forward so the seat more or less protects the speaker. 1 12" is pretty loud in a jeep. Oh and with this box you wouldn't need a slim sub. I guess this goes against building one though.
