Title: Body Lift installation, 97 TJ
Post by: WagoneerXJ on December 20, 2008, 04:22:29 PM
In the next few weeks I will be installing a 2" body lift on my girlfriend's 97 TJ Sport, 4.0 5spd. Now I bought the body lift used,it has the blocks and body bolts.

Is there anything else I will need to install it? I've done body lifts on fullsize trucks and there were things like steering shaft extensions, fan shroud brackets and things like that. Will I need any of this for the TJ? Thanks!

the fan shroud will have to move, maybe the whole rad moves a little, I can't remember 'cause i put on an electric fan. An extension for the fuel filler tube, bracket for the t-case shifter.

I ended up taking it the body lift off, I found that with 31's the 2" suspension lift was more than enough. What size tires are you planning on going too?

If you are doing the body lift and  lifting the engine, and are  still using the stock fan and shroud you may need to be creative so that the fan does hit the shroud. Unless, of course the bl and motor mounts have the same amount of lift

The goal is to run 33's on this TJ. Was going to add a 2" Budget Boost later on. I can mess with the fan shroud easily I think, but the fuel filler tube and t-case shifter parts didn't come with the body lift. Can I buy these seperately anywhere?

I didn't know you could fit 33's with a 2" lift, on a TJ. That's why I was going to do the 2" BL and a 2" Spacer Lift.
