Title: Red Deer to Cochran which way is better?
Post by: Waytec on December 24, 2008, 04:48:25 PM
On Saturday the 27th I will be heading from Red Deer to Cochrane early in the morning. Google maps is telling me one way via coming to Calgary and the going down Country hills and then Map quest is telling me to turn at Airdrie and go cross country and then come down 22. Those that have made the trip before which way is better?

I've always just taken 22 on that route but who knows what the roads will be like this time of year.

I live in Cochrane and usually take the Big Hill Springs Rd(567) and go thru Airdrie when heading north.

Yup. 2 to airdrie, then across on the 587(?)...the Irricana highway, anyways. Follow that until it doglegs south for two miles, then back west to 22. Minimal traffic, good roads.
