Title: Hey fellow Calgarians!
Post by: 03Jeeper on January 09, 2009, 09:34:37 AM
Hey everyone! New to the club here, my name is Fernando and i'm 17. I own a 2003 TJ, 4.0L 5spd. Love the jeep. I'm just getting to learn more and more about jeeps, and it's just fascinating!! I never knew id be so into Jeeps.
Right now i'm saving up for some goodies for the TJ, a 2.5" RC lift, 15x10 Cragars and the rubber 33x12.50 MTZ's.
I can't wait to have her fully done, hopefully by april.
Oh, just a few questions, can someone tell me about some spots around the city? or if theres any at all?
and any spots out of the city?

Thanks!
so anyone liking this weather?  :D

Welcome Fernando

No leagal wheeling in the City. We discourage anyone from breaking the law and wheeling on private land, unless you have the owners permission. It gives the 4x4 comunity a bad rep.

Out of town you have McLean Creek (closed this time of year) and a limited number of trails in the GHOST FLUZ.
If your just staring out try to hook up on a trail run to the Ghost with a few of the experienced club members. Please don't go out alone.
Minimum requirements for most beginner club runs are: front and rear tow points, tires in good condition including a full size spare, a tow strap with loop ends and a working CB. We also have lots of more difficult runs with more restrictive vehicle requirements. If you see a run posted and your jeep is not ready post up and ask if anyone has an empty seat. You can learn lots from riding shotgun once or twice without incurring cost from busted parts on your rig. Also come on out to a meeting and get to know the group.

Welcome,
Blair

Nope,.. it will never stop now :D

you'll always be looking for a new/better upgrades for something or other,.. could be as small as fender flares to fog lights right to winches, big lift and etc.

I fell into my yj over a year ago,.. literally and have spent more on parts than I did for the jeep,.. LOL (but that isn't much compared to others,..I'm a thrifty 1/2 asian - so I'm only 1/2 cheap)

Well Jay at least you didn't spend the extra money on a mint condition newer Jeep with only 50 000 clicks just to flop it two months later!!!  I wouldn't have any other way...so much for keeping it stock until it was paid off!
