Title: What to do with rusted out floor boards
Post by: dhlo on January 12, 2009, 09:31:49 PM
I have a 1981 CJ7.  There was no rust in the tub when I bought it about 7 years ago, but after adding carpet, the rust started.  Now, I get snow and rain spitting up at me and soon enough, I'll be able to drive like Fred Flintstone.  Anybody have an easy fix, not requiring welding equipment that I don't have, that will keep me dry until I can afford to get it fixed permanently?

I had the same problem with my floors. :-\
I cut out the rusted areas and riveted in diamond pattern aluminum with an under coat of gravel guard.
