this is the 2nd time this has happened, both while i was on the trail, my situation yesterday was i had the lockers front and rear engaged, then turned off vehicle, then they disengaged and wouldn't engage again after that, would flash as if it was trying to engage but didn't, then later on when u pressed the button nothing happened, i have funny feeling its a wiring issue, they are the stock air lockers for 2003 Rubicon, any suggestions?

simple fix,.. remove axles and give to me,.. problem solved :D j/k
-
ha ha thats a good one :D :D

we checked fuses and all that fancy stuff and it came back good... :'(

If you have air lockers maybe your air compressor is lossing air when you are not running the motor, Iam not a mechanic but to me it sounds like a compressor problem.

i have not done it yet, but i was told it could be electric lockers, and a solenoid problem

I had a problem with my stock arb air lockers on my 03 rubicon not working. They wouldn't engage at all ( and no lights on the dash) My guess was that my jeep didn't know it was in 4 low and not allowing the lockers to engage.... so i did this mod on the switch and they've been working ever since and it allows me to lock the lockers in 4 high and even the rear locker in 2 high if i want to.

I did the one with the toggle switch wired into it too.
hope this helps

anyone a good electrician? ;) ::)

If the switch only get's pwr when it is in 4 low then just run a pwr wire straight to the switch. from the battery, this whay you should be able to lock the rear in 2 hi.

i was informed they are air lockers.. but was also told otherwise
-
they should be air lockers ... that mod thing i posted is very easy ... looks more complicated then it is i'm no electrician but could give you a hand if your unsure
-
would be nice lol.. i probably cant even buy the right wires ;D
-
i had same problem with my sway bar on my power wagon. i found that if you disconnect the battery sometimes that helps or if you just drive a little and then try to connect and disconnect again helps as well or just take it to a dealer lol.

Dont trust the lights. They are not reliable. Regardless of what the light does, you need to know if the lockers are working or not.
Otherwise its just speculation.
-
it HAS to be a wiring issue, tried them in the driveway today, worked fine, engaged easy disengaged easy.. lol ???

Probably a wire or two is torn off. Look for them right up by the pinion. Two wires going into a little plug in the side of the housing.
Regardless, the lockers will work without them. They just control the dashlight, nothing more.
