Title: Front Trackbar bushing
Post by: Elsifer on January 22, 2009, 09:44:41 PM
Trackbar bushing PN #K3176, moog 84-01 xj track bar bushing, 2 piece kit.

The autovalue by my house stocks them for me Chris (otherwise they are an order in part). I use them in most my suspension joints.

Hey Bill, is this the stock Rubi sized bushing? Or is this the upgraded one that takes the next-sized up bolt?

I'm finally getting around to replacing the bushing, and drilling the hole bigger to get the next-sized-up bolt in. Plus I'm gonna weld a washer to the axle bracket to try and double up the thickness of the bracket to keep the hole from ovaling on me.

Cheers
Chris

Well, for those that want to know.

That part number above, is the same-ish bushing as what is stock. (for an 04 Rubi. YMMV)

I drilled out the stock holes in the axle bracket to 1/2". I reamed out the bushing sleeve to 1/2". And I used a lock washer and a nylock nut on the backside. And a regular flat washer on the front.
I even put a couple of tack welds on the front washer to keep it in place. Adds a little extra meat so the bolt doesn't oval the hole again.

Jeepie handles like a sloppy sports car again!
