Title: On board air
Post by: Waytec on January 23, 2009, 10:32:09 PM
I am putting to gather an on board air system using an A/C compressor. The information I am looking for is, what are you using as an oilier. I need one to lube pump but I am not to sure if I use a normal oilier or is their one made for Mobile applications.

I think what most do is use a york compressor, so you don't have to worry about lube. They have their own internal lube system, not lubricated with typical ac freon or whatever they use.

Thanks but I am not using a York. I am using the stock one that is not internally lubed.

I have read somewhere that you just give it a shot of airtool oil once in a while.

This is true and does work but gets annoying after a bit.
PA sells the self oiler you top it once and awhile with oil.
They also sell the filter so you don't spit oil in your tires.

The same in line oiler for air tools can be adapted for an OBA system.
