Just thought I would pass on some info on my JK after I had BDS 6.5" lift installed. I am running 37x13.5R18 Toyo Mt's on Pro-comp wheels. There is NO rubbing and also ZERO bump steer with this kit. I removed Stock rear bumper and added the FabFour rear bumper and Tire Carrier. The front Bumper and winch will be added by spring. I left the stock 4:10's in it just because I will be adding a 6.1L hemi this fall, The jeeps are way under powered from the factory and that is my only complaint.
-
My 2 door is just fine with 4.10's! 6th is iffy on the highway, Ive got a ton of bump steer too, either adding hydro assist or a fox ss.
-
Thats why I went with the Long arm, I had issues with bump steer on my Mega Cab diesel with my 6" kit, When I did the 8" long arm everything went away. If you have any questions about the best way to fix the bump steer call Jason @ Gill's truck and auto in Didsbury(403-335-4814). He has done all my last few lifts and by far the best and most helpfull.

HAHAHA! NO THANKS! I know gill all too well. They have enough of my life savings.
I deal with Eric at Altitude. BUT I am getting BRINK to fab me up some long arms.
-
Altitude? Where are they out of ??
-
Red Deer, about a block from my house! ;D
-
Is that eric from Rocky mountain Offroad??? he was a good guy to deal with if it was.
-
Yes Eric was with rocky and now has his own shop in Red Deer. I live in Calgary and Eric,s shop did my lift. Eric wil tell you what works and what does not and what the compromises in each lift are. Good guy to deal with. Andy

Bumpsteer has nothing to do with the suspenion fellas, and hydro assist/stabilizers arent the fix for it.
Figure out your steering angles and how to address them, and your bumpsteer will go away.
-
Nah, I would say the 13.5" tires and the stock steer stablizer would have something to do with the wheel moving on bumps. ;)
-
I think it is a bit of everything. I had a 5" procomp in my one dodge diesel and it came with new steering linkage, the bump steer was so bad it would just about pull the sterring wheel from your hands. I put the stock linkage back in and it went away. When it comes to lifts you get what you pay for! I swear by my BDS kits now. No issues since I have switched to BDS.
And yes Eric is good to deal with, He did the Fabtech long arm in my 02 dodge.
If any one is looking for a 3.8 or an auto tranny out of a JK (1500km) let me know!

Dont confuse tire wander due to width with bumpsteer.
Bumpsteer is 100% a function of trackbar versus draglink. Length and angle.
Bumpsteer does not have anything to do with stabilizers, tire size, backspacing, or suspension type. Except in the case of radius arms in a very small sense of the word.

Any suggestions on winch??? Anyone running the Powerplant?
-
Powerplants are still known to be hit and miss with bugs sometimes.
9.5ti is probably the best choice for a rig that size.
-
Steel or synthetic?? I have heard guys love/hate the synthetic rope
-
Poly Performance just released 5.38 gears for dana 44's, that should give you the power your looking for.

i have the powerplant and it pulls like a a son of a gun
but its slower then the 9.5 and the compressor works very well i added a 7gallon tank and it runs impacks and airtoys with no issues
