We'll have to get you down to Moab with us next time Vince. Here's a rental some of the guys in our group helped on Hells Gate a few years ago.

Are you guys going down this year or is it next year?
I was down last year and had a rental JK Rubicon for a day but I was a lone Jeep out so I took it pretty easy.
Come to think of it, We crossed paths around Idaho Falls. We were on our way down and I remember seeing your truck and trailer heading home.
We are definitely planning on another trip to Moab, just not sure when.

Going down there again in 2010. This time we're doing 2 weeks on Colorado trails, then move over for 2 weeks in Moab. You've got plenty of time to get something together for the trip, no matter how long you want to go for. Usually soemone in our group ends up renting a jeep for a while though.

That definitely sounds do-able.
We will be towing a travel trailer so renting a Jeep will be our plan.
On a side note, the last time I was down with my Jeep (2006), we ran across 2 guys in the desert that had been walking for over 5 hours in 35 + degree heat with no water and wearing blue jeans.
We watered them and gave them a lift back to their truck about 3 miles away. I don't think I have ever met 2 more thankful people in my life, turns out one of them owns Slickrock campground. Guess who I'll be booking a site with? ;D
Yep, 2010 can be a trip

Its even later in the year than usual, so that gives you another 6 months to get ready. We wanted to make sure the snow wasn't flying in Colorado yet so we could do the 12,000-13,000 foot passes, but also wanted to make sure we didn't hit the extreme temperatures in Moab. Best of both areas hopfully.
Your hiker issue sounds very similar to alot of hikers and bikers we bump into on the trail. I think they under estimate the heat and dehydration issue and the volume of water they are limited in carrying. They get quite a charge out of my cold water plumbing system I have running right to a tap in my dash. Makes for a great conversation peice. :)
Anymore chatter and they'll make us take this to PM's or email. ;D
