Title: Track bar bushings?
Post by: YJguy on November 03, 2005, 12:57:01 PM
Over the summer, I've been working at replacing all the rubber suspension bushings with Poly.  Ran into a snag with the front track bar, in that the poly bushing is slightly larger than the hole.

I got the poly bushing in, but it took some effort and looks like 10 pounds of meat in a 5 pound sack.

There may be a bushing in there that could be pushed out, has anyone encountered this before?

When I did mine on my 95 YJ, there was a metal sleeve inside the bar that I punched out.  I had no problems putting the busings in.

Yeah, there should be a crush sleeve.

Moog makes a TB bushing kit that is 2 peice and has the crush sleeve. I pay 18 bucks a set at autovalue.
