Title: ax 5 grind
Post by: superspud on April 23, 2009, 01:11:34 AM
so my ax five is grinding into 2nd.
my tranny fluid should be full, (ill check monday anyways) and i have redline in there.
only grinds when down shifting into second.
does this mean that the tranny is pooched? if so does anyone have a working ax5 external salve for a student price?
thanks for any help.
Shane

my ax15 grinds something fierce into 3rd. a little bird told me its the teeth on the syncro mesh gear or something have become kind of rounded off, so it wants to grind; just hammer it into gear.  apparently it doesn't mean the tranny is dead;  this is what i've been told maybe someone else has a better explanation

trust me

start looking for a replacement ax5

grinding during down shifting is fine,.. just don't do it anymore (save your gears) unless you know how to properly double clutch to speed match the tranny to the motor.

Once you start grinding while upshifting into 2nd,.. really learn how to double clutch,.. if you are careful, you can have a good 6 months like that, maybe 8.

then 4th will go,.. but once 5th goes,.. just give up LOL
