did the waterpump in my cherokee yesterday with a new thermostat went to run it today heater full blast everything like that and it still overheats and i dont get any heat in the interior... WTF?
-
Did you bleed the air outta the system?
-
burped the system its all good now

The 4.0L can be a real pain to burp air out off. I ended up buying one of those flush kits just for the "T" fitting. When I filled up the system I would take the cap off of it to let the air bleed out while filling. Helped a lot.
No heat from the heater is a good indication that the system still has air in it.

How long did it take you to swap the water pump?
-
are you sure the new thermostat was working properly, are you sure you didn't put it in upside down, was the system flushed

He fixed it, air in the system.

snap on makes a good vacuum rad filler. I love it so much, it always bang on and it suck out all the air and left over coolant before replacing it with fresh stuff.. it really is a must have for guys that do cooling systems every now and then. its clean, its reliable and it takes the guess work out.
think its about $150 (!!!) and its cheaper and way superior to the real sh*tty Napa one.

took me 45 mins start to finish to do the waterpump ;D no fawking around

Told ya it was easy... and you wanted to sell the jeep! ;)

bigest pain was adjustin the belt tention hahaha
-
Ya thats a really dumb setup for the belt tension. I find it easiset to just pull out the airbox.
BTW the t-stat usually has a small valve in it on the outer ring. Make sure its at the 12 o'clock position when installed. Its an air bleed.

ya i ditched my air box in favor of a K&N for the street so it made it easier haha
