Any Dodge tech's out there?I have a 00 Dakota 4x4 with the 4.7l V8,the tranny is stuck in 3rd gear (limp mode i imagine)i get a code of 1698 No comunication to the TCC (transmission control module)I have another module out of a similar truck,the tranny shop says i have to get a dodge dealer to reprogram my new TCC,i checked all the plug ins and fuses,just wondering if the tranny shop is right,if so how much should i budget for this?Any help would be great!

what sends the message to the TCC. i had the same problem in mine in my WJ. it turned out to be a speed sensor in the tranny.

it could be an updated flash for the trans computer. which could be like a recall, and would cost you nothing. or at worst the labor charge for having it flashed.
