Title: RPM drop and intermittent "ticking" engine sounds
Post by: redrubi on May 18, 2009, 12:36:52 PM
Looking for a little help.....

The issue went from nothing to a flashing check engine light and very rough idle in about one hour of hwy/city driving.

There is an intermittent ticking which sounds like it's coming from the back of the engine which seems o be related to the RPM's. Higher RPM's, more noticeable sound. The new development in the very rough idle which now drops the RPM's down to about 350 and a momentary flashing engine light.

The ticking is leading me to believe it's a crack in the the exhaust manifold or something along that line. Now the ideal and check engine light.....TPS?

I haven't had the codes read yet but will need to tomorrow.

Any thoughts are welcome!
