yep. take to the dealer. they will reset.
-
I'll see if I can find the manual for my 01 and see if it says anything
-
$90 is almost the cost of an aftermarket stereo with MP3 capabilities, why not just replace it.
-
Gmc stock radios kick pretty sweet sound and its got all the anti theft and what not
-
Does it ask for a code? If you havent set anything up its probably all zeros.
-
search the net. you can get the code of the net with just the serial code off the deck, at least this is what my neigbor told me...
-
Dealer should be able to give you code over the phone with VIN number given to them free of charge or try a different dealer. Usually only get three tries to enter code before it locks you out so check your manual carefully before you start or you have to leave the radio and key on for an hour or so for it to reset.

Had this happen when i changed the battery on my truck,i searched the web and found a site that provided a 1-800 number and about 5 dealer codes, only one of the dealer codes worked, but by following the instuctions it gave me my reset code no problem,it was a long time ago so i dont remember where i got the site.
BTW:if you go aftermarket let me know if you want to sell your old unit, mine has volume button issues.
